I have been hearing a pretty loud noise in the front area of my engine. I took off the serpentine belt and started the engine and it's still there. It almost sounds like dieseling but I know it's not and it's a little different anyway. The noise has been there about a month or so and is gradually getting worse and lately it is accompanied with a light hesitation in acceleration. Any ideas? let me know.

Sounds like the chain has stretched. Might pull the valve covers off and check down inside to see if there is a broken tensioner or guide.

Oh, my gas milage is way down too. What the heck is wrong with my truck? Anyone know a truck exorcist!!!
