Default 98 f150 xly 4x4 tire size?

i have a 98 f150 3dr xlt 4x4. it has the stock rims with P235/70R 16 on it. does any body know of a bigger or more agressive tire size that will fit on the stock rims and without me having to lift the truck any. it wil be lifted soon but not in the budget right now. i need new tires but would like to get some more agressive ones utilizing the stock rims. thanks.

i have the 97 version of ur truck and have 285/75/16 Maxxis Bighorn on it w/o any mods. i have only had the tires the rub a couple of times when off road and the suspension in a sever bind. 295s would probably fit but you have a turning problem when turning to sharp.

My 01 came with 265/70-17. I was able to fit 285/70-17 no problem. They're a hair under 33s. If you went up to that size, you could do it without having to crank your t bars

Oh, I have after market wheels that are 8" wide, but I'm pretty sure the stock 17s were 7.5 inches wide, so they could fit 285s no problem. I'm not sure how wide stock 16s are, but I assume they're the same width.someone correct me if I'm wrong!

My Lariat came stock with 255/70/16. I think you could go to 285 without a lift kit, which would be expensive for these 2WD trucks.
