I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the backrest in the back seat. I keep trying to find a link that will show me how, but all of them show the newer generation.. please help

you have to have a special tool to get the seats off, the backs of the seat just pop right out though. Why do you want them out anyway?

I have painted the bench seat in the back, because I am the new ownerof this truck, its my first truck, and the grey had a lot of stains. I am trying to get the backrest off to paint it aswell. What tool do I need

you don't need a tool to get the back off, fold the seats down into the floorboard, reach underneath the back and you'll feel a bolt/nut holding a bracket down, there's two of these, remove them and lift straight up on the seat back, it will come out. i have had mine out before

I tried It and it did not work.....maybe I am a little stupid, but i just couldnt figure it out

are you talking about the part of the seat against the back wall if so go out and reach about 8-10inches off of each edge of the seat and stick your hands threw there and you should feel a little latch on each side push it and push up and it will pop off its not that hard just feel around and you'll see what im talking about
