97 and 2000 interchangeable?
i found a 2000 4x4 w/ passenger side damage at rocker pannel/door/fender with a 5.4 (1700 w/ 180,000 miles) ------how interchangeable is my 97(same color)4x4 with a blown up 4.6? body? and most important tranny and rear end,
........ this will be a a good deal for me if it all works, and keep me in a ford and back to frickin work

I would use the motor and trans out of the 2000. That has the strong trans and should have a sterling 10 1/4 rear end. Check the tags on the axle to see if the ratios are different. they probably are. I bet the 2000 has 3:73's and your 4.6 has a higher ones. Is your 97 a scab?
