Default 97-03 F150 General Discussion

I didn't see a place for General 10th gen Chat and Questions. Some questions might not warrant their own thread but still is good info.

Anyone retrofit Radio steering wheel controls in a 10th gen? ..and get it to work?

Perfect example of a use for this thread!!

I've been hunting an FX4 OEM front skid plate the one on the front crossmember. So far no luck, Its hard to tell from the diagram but is this the right skid plate from ford? It LOOKS correct but i could easily be wrong, for $63 I'm considering it..

I figured we could use this thread to BS about the trucks since so many of the other threads wander so much. If it doesn't take off that's fine I'll just keep posting things I need to remember about the 10th gen, lol.

Hooking up the pink wire on a GPS deck you'll possibly need a VSS wire to help with accuracy of the GPS.

It's found on the second wiring harness in Pin location #9

02_Black_On_White Yes it appears to be the correct part number. Cant find a actual pictures tho. BTW its cheaper at Tasca. Its only $43.
Wolvee Yes it possible you will need a steering wheel from a 99-02 Lincoln Navigator with steering wheel controls. Along with the ACM harness, and a Radio with Audio controls.

I have the skid plate on my 01. Was the FX4 just a premium package 4x4 rebranded in 02? It seems like the only thing different on my 01 is a sawblade wheels and the stickers on the bed.

I know I've seen this answer before on here.
