Hey guys, we've got a 2001 5.4L. The truck was put into storage a year ago. Before it was stored fuel stabilizer was used but it may have been run completely dry the last time it was driven(I'm not sure I didn't prep it).

I charged the battery up today, added 7 gallons of fuel, and it cranks but won't start. The Schrader valve on the fuel line was checked but no fuel is reaching the line. I also checked the inertia switch and it's good. I doubt it's a clogged filter as the truck ran fine before storage and if fuel was left in it was stabilized. We're thinking a possible seized pump, and going to let the truck sit tonight and try to start it tomorrow while tapping the fuel tank with a rubber mallet.

Any other things you guys can think of?

How long did you hold the schrader valve open? Could be vaporized in the lines. Did you hear the pumps prime?

The valve was held for a good 3 seconds no sound or fluid came out. Also I couldn't hear the pump(granted, I occasionally don't hear the pump in my daily driver)

If you don't hear the pump prime for a few seconds, that's where I'd start looking. Once it works, then you can bleed off the fuel lines. If it was ran dry, it could've damaged the pump.

Or a rodent could have chewed a wire. It happens.

Well, the rubber mallet idea didn't work. There's a nice skid plate covering the gas tank lol. It's Thanksgiving so I'm done messing with it today, but the bolts holding the plate on got a nice dose of PB blaster.

Update, I had a few minutes to mess with it today. I cycled the key about 10 times, waiting 5 seconds in the on position to try to energize the pump. I cranked it and it started but conked out after 3 seconds or so. This happened about 3 times then it went back to just cranking and no start.

I only had time to try that so I'll update any progress later.

Problem fixed!! Cycled it 5 more times and the truck fired right up Then it just took some rocking in drive and reverse to free the rotors up lol
