Default 5.4L Missfire Cylinder 7

I have a 1998 5.4L F150 with 250k mi., The engine had a missfire cylinder 7 code so I replaced the COP and sparkplug. The truck ran great for about 2 weeks and now it is starting to skip again and I have another missfire cylinder 7 code. On occasion it will run smooth but starts skipping after a few minutes. I used an autozone coil pack and autolite sparkplug, I've read to use only ford parts. could this be my problem?

Just fixed my misfire problem, we'll see how long it lasts. Mine was standing water in the spark plug wells of #6 and #7, the water rusted the plug & broke connection between coil & plug.

If your old one was a rusty mess when you removed it make sure you use a TON of dielectric grease where the coil spring meets the plug. That's what I did, like I said, we'll see how long it lasts.

I've seen poor quality coils were the new boot does not seal in the head also make sure the 7mm bolt is down and tight.. it would be a good idea to swap that coil or remove it and see if water has migrated into the well is so blow out the water and use a ford coil autolight plug should be fine may want check that for possible cracks???

Mine were Motorcraft coils.... so it's not a cheap parts problem. I'll keep an eye on it. At least #6 & #7 are easy to get to to check it.
