Auto Door Locks
I just bought a 2001 F150 Lariat and am having a problem with the auto matic doorlocks that is proving to be quite puzzeling. The first 1-2 times you lock/unlock/lock the doors the locks work fine. after the first 2 or 3 times the lock just slowly stops cycling. If you wait several minutes and try it again they work fine for the first 1-2 times. The Dealer I bought it from took it to several mechanics and they couldn't figure it out. Thanks for the Help

You need to change the door lock actuators. You can repair them yourself as well. I'll try to find a post I have from another site which shows you how to fix them yourself. Id tell you to bring it back to the dealer and tell them to change the door lock actuators. If you buy them at a partstore or Ebay they are cheap though. Also they are kinda tricky o get out.

+1 on the actuators. I did one on my passenger's door. The part was fairly cheap. Working inside a door isn't ever very fun but not too bad. You'll probably have to drill out the rivet Ford used to put the actuator in and replace the new one with a bolt. I remember the hardest part was getting the arm fromthe actuator locked into the lock lever. Good luck.

How can you tell if rivets are holding the bracket? On the outside panel there is a round brass guide and what looks like a rivet. Is there only one rivet holding the bracket? I have a 2001 super crew and it is the passenger rear door.
