Default 5.4 Triton Oil - Synthetic vs non

I realize this is an age old subject, but can't searrch out good answers for the 5.4 V8. I purchasef 6 quarts of regular motor oil 5W-20 for my 03 F150 FX4 with 55,000 miles. It's ready for it's first change since I purchased it a year ago Oct. 2013,(2,000 miles in a year) only to read the owner's manuel which states use synthetic oil. Not certain what dealer put in at time of purchase.
Can I use the regular oil, not synthetic and a Fram filter????????

I would use motorcraft oil and filter in it. Personally I ignore the recommended weight and run 5w-30 in every ford I own.
