Here's my "custom" solution to the steering column pod not fitting

It will be using some bondo to even out the gaps.

Finished!
That looks sweet man, nice work!!

Nope...I ran 11psi with the Procharger before I did the L swap...The tune is the key in not blowing it up...to much timing and running lean will vent the motor

Cause the extreme load that's applied to the rods from the fast change from OD to 2nd likes to break them and send them shooting out the side of the block. Google "Lightning OD Kickdowns". Basically the rods can't handle the load.

Seems a bit extreme to me.

I mean ill be driving with common sense about 90% of the time anyways But i do have stock gears with 33's, so i'm sure the initial load on the engine while shifting down is lessened. I can see how this could apply, if your geared up... since it be a more abrupt change and the engine would wind up quicker.

So the custom steering column pod doesnt quite fit right still It buldges out a little too much and is too wide. Ideas?

Heat exhanger mounted, looks super stealthy!

I'm thinking of moving over the front licence plate to the passenger side for better airflow.

Is the sterring pod a generic brand? If so, I would send it back and just pay for the auto meter. On the flip side we both did different mounting installs on the heat exchanger for people to look at doing. Nice work so far, keep it going.
Whats next?

Steering column pod is actually an autometer, but i guess it's only 97-01 compatible. I have an 02. So i suppose it's just a little bit different on the 2002+ up. Im wondering if i can fit the bottom part of a 97-01 to make it work? I may buy another one, but ill see how this one comes out.

Fuel pump is next... If it ever arrives in time!!

Mine didn't fit quite right either and since I had a tach on my steering column anyway I just went ahead and cut it. It doesn't look too bad but it's not a beauty by any means.
