Only 1 issue. It drives like **** on "cold starts" and has a surging idle untill you warm it up - I have to keep it at 1500 RPM for aprox a minute before driving anywhere. Once it warms up it drives just fine with zero issues and feels really reliable.

I am actually getting a newer supercharger that is ported. I will be throwing it on sometime next week My current one needs a rebuild i think. It sounds like marbles inside

Expecting another 20-30 WHP and probably no tq gain. Also expecting lower IAT2 temps and slightly more boost. We may dial down the timing if the port nets too much power.

Just an updated picture: Click the image to open in full size.

Also took the truck 4x4 and it ran good at 12,000ft elevation. Startups seemed a bit rich at that altitude.

How difficult was the learning curve of this swap and how much prior mechanical knowledge did you have? I have religiously followed both you and fordmotorsports builds and am seriously considering this as well as a stock rebuild in exactly two years. I have been making parts lists and keeping a spread sheet of costs. I wouldn't be doing the rebuild myself but would attempt to do everything else including pulling the motor and reinstalling. I've 150,000 miles now and expect to be at 175,000 by that time. I am going to try to keep everything under $6,000. After I am finished with my major it will be this plan or an 09+. Is this feasible and something you would suggest after your experience?

Honestly, it really wasn't as bad as I thought. The hardest part for me was trying to mount the heat exchanger. I figured it out quickly with a friends help. If you wrench on things, you'll be fine. It's a good feeling knowing you did it yourself..or at least for me it was. I know if I did it again, I would set aside more time/money. But I thought I had everything covered but there is always something you forget or need once you dive in. Good luck with yours, add to this Dave. Dave did a nice job on his. Mine is hacked here and there but those are little things I can fix whenever. It still runs like a raped ape. Prob wait now because of the rebuild happening soon.

The way ppl look at you when the blower comes to life.......priceless lmao!

I pretty much did everything you were doing. Watched fordmotorsport wrench on his...Researched, made parts lists, priced out. Bought parts over time then made it happen.

If you want shoot me your email and i can send you a few guides which were very helpfull. I'll also attach this vacuum guide. I worked with a few guys over @ lightning rodder. It's probably the best schematic on the net.

Why not install the s/c now? Im pretty certain both our vehicles are almost at 160,xxx and we beat the living snot outta them. But the project is not that bad with all the right resources. I did my whole swap in less than 2 weeks. It can be done in a few days if your good.

I'm neck deep in university course work as well as a night job. So I'm two years off at minimum but am trying to collect as much knowledge on it as I can currently. Thanks for the replies guys
