Hi,

I was driving my '98 F150 with a 4.6l in 4H when the low range light came on the dash right next to the 4x4 light. Does this mean anything? The electronic locking hub-caps were taken out of this truck so you can lock the manualy from the inside (which I preffer). I'm not sure this affects anything. I'm just stating it so you know more details. I did not want to drive to fast so I took it out of 4x4.

My truck does the same thing every once in a while, still trying to track down the issue. My 4x4 does not work AND I am having a problem with my alternator.

Does your 4x4 never work, or is it only when the light comes on?

I have the twist button 4x4, it has not worked since I had the truck. If I take the motor off the transfer case and manually twist it into 4x4 and lock in the front diff manually it will work. Still trying to track that down. But I think the 4x4 light coming on is a different issue.
