Okay all, soo sorry for continuing my train wreck in this thread. Well, I got all the old 4x4 component out and have the hole drilled and the cable through, I'm having issues on figuring out how to route it, the instructions seem vague "routing depends on the vehicles engine" and I can't seem to figure it out, how did you route it? I've got one last question for charliedyal have you had any issues without that rubber boot that's supposed to cover the brass housing and smaller e-clip? I'm having a friend help install it and he said that if I don't have that boot, water will get in the cable and rust it tight. I cut the boot (was very angry) and am having a heck of a time finding another one.
