Okay all, soo sorry for continuing my train wreck in this thread. Well, I got all the old 4x4 component out and have the hole drilled and the cable through, I'm having issues on figuring out how to route it, the instructions seem vague "routing depends on the vehicles engine" and I can't seem to figure it out, how did you route it? Routed mine over the abs motor then up & around the shroud and finally down to the axle. Makes kind of a complete loop around the engine. Use the cable holders with the provided self tapping screws to secure it in place and either remove the old vacuum hoses completely or zip tie them out of the way. All that's left is to disconnect the electrical connectors from the 2 - 4x4 solenoids on the firewall.

I've got one last question for charliedyal have you had any issues without that rubber boot that's supposed to cover the brass housing and smaller e-clip? I'm having a friend help install it and he said that if I don't have that boot, water will get in the cable and rust it tight. I cut the boot (was very angry) and am having a heck of a time finding another one.

I don't have it either. Just wipe some bearing grease on it every now and then. It will be ok. May be even better than the boot. They tend to hold water & dirt anyways. Nothing is impenetrable.
