Default 4x4 actuator help

I need a little bit of help. I'm trying to change my 4WD vacuum actuator and I'm not really sure where to start. I don't see anything obvious as far as changing it so any help is greatly appreciated. On a side note the actuator only moves a little bit. I got it to move with a pry bar. So should I load it up with pb blaster? Or just change it? Thanks

Use the PB to free it up first, then load up the boot with white lithium grease. Make sure the boot is watertight. If that doesn't work, then the actuator will need replaced.

to change it there is a C clip on the shaft of the actuator on the side that the rubber boot is on.... Should be (the color) gold. Most the time it is. You will pop it off and the actuator should slide out! Sometimes they are stuck so spray pb blaster on it and hit it with a hammer but don't get to rowdy with it.

Be careful with any hammering, many people have broken the bracket off.

Does the little fork that goes in the slot need to be removed?

not sure what your referring to. If your meaning the grove in the shaft that lines up with the fork in the front diff.. I think you can just turn the actuator so it's not lined up. Sometimes they are stuck in there good. Spray is with pb blaster a lot and often ha.
