hello..new to the site
ive got a 98 f150 4 wheel drive.
ive got the electronic shift on the dash for the 4 wheel hi/lo
when i try to put it in either 4 hi or lo i hear a small click by the actuator on the front diff but it doesnt lock into 4 wheel.
vacuum lines seem to be ok
any suggestions?

You can lock your hubs manually.

how do you lock your hubs manually with auto lock hubs?

yea dont have manual lock..otherwise id be fine with it.haha

Try putting it in 4X4 in N and letting it roll forward slightly.

After many years of using my 4X4 it stopped working. I took it to the dealer, one of the service managers said you should always have it in neutral before engaging the 4x4. Ford never tells you that. Mine turn out to be a very expensive repair or ripoff. Live and learn.

This is a great site so far, I have learned alot and hope to continue learning with every bodies input.
