4.6L rough idle, hard starting, need help
my 2000 (4.6L with 170k) is acting up. Through the years I've replaced a few COP's, so I know the deal there, as well as the usual symptoms. The last time I replaced a COP, I put all new plugs in it (just 10k miles ago)
The symptoms are:
1) quite regularly it's hard to start. It has a good new battery in it. It'll turn over fine, but you have to KEEP holding it there to start, or better yet let go of the key and it'll start on the second try.
2)erratic idle. It also seems a little rough. When coming to a stop, it often drops WAY down to like 400-500 on the tack then bounces back up to a normal idle. When you are on the gas around town it seems fine.
Ideas? Where to begin?

Sounds like a fuel pressure problem...start with the fuel filter change. You can check the fuel pressure too...What about injectors? The could be inop or clogged.Sea Foam WORKS well.
