No point in those numbers. They're useless by how you figure it.

"Omg I drove 10 miles and my needle hasn't moved. I must be getting at least 100 mpg!"

You obviously have no clue as to how to calculate MPG
Do a search, read up, come back with Real World results
Spec on 2003 lists a 25g gas tank, I suppose its possible a smaller tank was installed
I have a 27g tank & have yet to put 27g of gas in it...Light on or not
Light 1st comes on I can have as much as 5g of gas still in the tank

Wouldn't call it useless. I'd say it's fairly close. I don't think 20mpg is an impossible thing to achieve. It's fine to point out an inaccuracy but there's no need to be an *** about it.

You're aware that there's a couple gallons in the filter neck when you fill up that has to burn of before the needle moves right

If it was possible to get 20 mpg out of a stock truck, don't you think Ford would have put that in the window instead of the 11/12 city and 17 highway that they did? They're not going to short themselves. Better mpg = better sales tactics = more money = win. They're out to make money.

If you think I'm being an ***, I'm sorry. I may have called you something or other in my head but didn't type it. But OK. Yes! Good job on getting 20 mpg out of your 10 year old truck. More than Ford said it could do. Those dumbasses, saying it can only get 17 max on the highway. Little do they know Andrew warhall can get better. Those millions spent on testing trucks...pshh. Wasted money. Hire andrew instead, he's got the magic foot.

/end rant.

I'm aware of the fuel in the filler neck. And if I do have the 25 gallon tank which I probably do. That would bring it down to 16.5. Yes I am basing that figure on the gas needle. Is it completely accurate? No. Do I care? No. Should I have had better evidence to support my claim? Absolutely, but we all make mistakes.

You're forgiven. And I'm jealous.

I got over 13 once. I think I must have been driving downhill the whole time.

Its not even CLOSE to accurate
If its off by even 1-2 gallons - QUITE POSSIBLE by GUESSING, then your MPG drops to 12-14mph which is closer to actual MPG for your truck
--especially if you are in an area that has Winter gas

Honestly I've never seen anyone post their MPG by Guessing
