I'm actually from the 04-08 section. But I am someone who has also built their 4.6 similar to what you want to do. However I didn't stroke mine out. Just bored it out. I also didn't buy a different block. I stuck with my Windsor. Mine is currently awaiting it's supercharger. I subscribed and I am definitely Interested to see how this build goes for you. And as we have pretty much the same engine, if you have any questions along the way. I'll be around

Cool man, I appreciate it! I will probably have several questions later on! And yeah the only reason I'm even considering a stroker is because that kit is priced pretty well. Not sure if I could find all new equipment for that price anywhere else.

Just buckling up for the ride here. I want to watch this for ideas for the future.

Still undecided on staying with a SBF or doing a Mod Motor in my Stang.

Subbed

Me and my '00 4.6 shall watch this ... and take many notes. Been debating if to get a 5.4 or to just get another 4.6 when the grim reaper comes for my factory engine.

Well the stock engine finally went kaput. Merging on to the highway and I hear a pop and it felt like it lost all power. Started making this bad knock/rattle sound. At first oil pressure was okay. Then when I pulled into a parking lot to look at it, it wouldn't keep oil pressure at idle. Now it won't get ANY oil pressure. Or at least that's what the gauge says. Going to purchase a mechanical gauge and test it that way. Kinda bummed. It's been well maintained and only has 105k miles on it.

Too bad the old engine let go.
Now the priority for the rebuild has jumped up to immediate.

Yeah I agree. I kinda saw it coming because I drove it hard in my highschool days. Even though it was maintained meticulously, lots of high rpm's will take a toll on an engine. I'm thinking it's oil pump related. But I've heard about spun bearings causing low/no oil pressure. It happened after I was merging onto the highway so the engine rpm's were at 3500-4000 when it happened. It kind of sounds like a spun bearing from what I've read online. Kinda like a Diesel engine. Or marbles in a tin can being spun around the base.

Exactly lol. My buddy has a garage that we are building it in. He's letting me borrow his old Ford Taurus with my crf150f dirt bike as collateral. Win win for me because I get free transportation and I get a free storage place for my bike
