Default 4.6 long tubes

Hey guys I'm a fairly new member here and was wondering if someone could help me out. I have made several phone calls and sent alot of emails trying to find long tube headers for my 2002 4.6 4wd. So now I was curious if anyone has used 5.4 headers on their 4.6 and what kind of modificatons were needed to do it. I have the truck apart now cause i needed to do head gaskets and I'd like it for the weekend but i don't wanna reuse the shortys. I really long tubes in the worst way. Sorry to be so long winded but any help or advice would be greatly appreicated!!

The 5.4 block is taller than the 4.6. This puts the hearer surface up and out further. I know the down pipes are different due to their location relative to the manifolds. U might run into problems with the steering.

I know the deck height is higher on the 5.4 and i know i won't run into steering issues. I am worried about to headers hitting the frame, starter and front driveshaft. I already have the cats and stuff to do the job but the headers i ordered from pacesetter for the earlier 4.6's don't seem to exsist anywhere.

Look at Summit racing to see what they may have then.

I think I'm gonna get the pacesetter part number 70-2227 and see if they will fit, I know of guys using them on 4.6's. I see summit is the only place that may have these headers also. When I did the head gaskets I put a set of comps cams in and polished the heads so I want to get as much as possible out of the small motor.

Sure thing I'll let you all know. I just ordered them so i hope it all goes good I've read that some people they fit and some say they didn't but I'm not against minor mods if their going to work. A tech guy at jegs said that pacesetter is in the process of designing headers for these trucks but its going to take several months to know.
