4.6 to 5.0

4.6 to 5.0
I have made up my mind, I want a 5.0 in my 2000 ford ford f150 that has a gutless 4.6 and a manual shift 4x4 with a auto tranny. I need to know, does the 5.0 bolt to the stock tranny? ( i know will have to get a trans controler.) and any other info on this topic, Has anybody done this yet or will i be the first.

Why not save yourself a lot of grief by putting a 5.4 in? You will have more hp and torque along with a straight drop in. How about a 32v DOHC out of a Navigator

I find it interesting that you want to replace your, "gutless" 4.6L with a even more gutless 5.0L. Even with the sparkplug ejection issues, I still wouldnt trade my Triton for 302 or 351.

ok guys look wether you like it or not i'm swaping this engine for the 5.0. I hate the 4.6 and you will never get me to believe me that it has more power then the 5.o and reguardless its what i want to do and I was just asking if there was anybuddy else that has done this or has any advive. and if your advice is to tell nme not to do it or to bash the 5.0 then dont bother.

well two things, one get the 4.6 to 5.0 kit....it strokes the 4.6 to a 5.0
and 2, i can definatly prove that my gutless 4.6 puts out more power then a 5.0

Why would you want to put a weaker engine in your truck. It's cool that you like the 5.0's, who doesn't? But the Triton engines make more power than the old 5.0. No one is trying to bash on your decision, they are just trying to make you realize that you are going to have less power than you already have.

The stock 5.0L H.O. motors only make about 190hp (225 Crank) and 260ftlbs (300 Crank) @ the wheels (that's what mine dyno'd). The stock Triton 4.6L make about 215hp (250 Crank) and 260ftlbs (300 Crank) at the wheels appx... Not to mention all the work you will put into getting the 5.0 and AOD(E) to fit in your F150, and the cost of the new tranny and bellhousing, etc, etc.

ok the reason that i dont like the 4.6 is that, I dont believe that it makes so much power. I would say that it make maybe maybe 175hp and i have read the codes there is nothing wrong with it. hell maybe i will do the 5.4 swap. Is there a kit for this and can i use a supercharged lightning engine for it?
