Default 2000 F-150 engine rebuild

I have a 2000 F-150 XLT 4x4 with 5.4L 2-valve SOHC. It has 255K miles on everything. Everything is original except there is a spark plug sleeve for the passenger side closest to the cab. Trans, Transfer, differentials.... etc. is all original. I'm thinking about rebuilding or replacing engine and need some advice. Replace or rebuild? and when i do, do i replace the trans and all the other drivetrain components or are they fine? Any advice would be appreciated.

There are a ton of threads on this subject. Everyone has their own opinion on the subject of rebuild vs replace and what company to buy from.
