Post 4.2l engine swap to a 5.4

I got a 99 f150 with the 4.2l v6 in it and a 5 speed maual tranny. I was wondering what it would cost and would it be possibleto swap in a 5.4 or 4.6 which evers easier. Will it even bolt up to the tranny do I need diffrent motor mounts has anyone ever done it before. Id like to go with the 5.4 but I dont think I've ever seen a manual 5.4 Thanks for the help

It can be done if you are steadfast about keeping that truck. No, you will not be able to retain your MTX and you will need much more than just an engine (engine, trans, driveshaft, ECM, wiring harness, subframe, etc). Your best bet is to sell it and get a 5.4L since depending on drivetrain and mileage, they can be had for less than this swap will inevitably end up costing you.

Yes, you could get the 4.6L in a 5sp but the 5.4L was never offered with a stick.

Yup - looked at one before I got the Scab I eventually purchased. It was a regular cab though I don't know if that 4.6/manual combo was available in other models.
