4.2 V6 Tensioner Pully?
Hi Guys,
My engine's been making a sound which I can only describe as the sound a pressure cooker makes when at idle. If you tap the gas or bring the rpm's up just a notch the noise goes away. I am thinking it may be the tensioner pully for the serpentine belt? Does this sound like an accurate diagnosis? How hard is it to take the pully assembly off and replace?
Thanks!

Have the 4.2L myself, replaced my belt and hoses and stuff a while back, don't remember anything significant about the procedure. Suggest using a stethoscope to verify the idler as being the problem. But what if you don't have one? Guess it was a bad idea.
