If I get 35 12.50/17 with 17/10 rims will putting spacers on it keep it from rubbing?

It also has a lot to do with your offset / backspacing.

Default Second guessing it now

I REALLY didn't do any research but I wanna run 35s with a 3inch level and maybe keys if it needs it and didn't really know if it would need regearing.
Would I still be able to tow or would regearing be mandatory

You'll probably need keys to get to 24.25" on a crew cab, most do. You'll fit them fine on stock wheels. You're going to be a little down on power, but a regear isn't a must.

they have some skinnier tires that would be perfect for our rims. The tire size is 285/75-17 and they are basically the same size as 315/70-17 except they're narrower. I have 315s and they only rub sometimes on full lock when I do certain things, so with 30 mm narrower tire, I doubt you would rub (I wish they had the 285/75-17 in trail graps when I was gettin my tires, I would've gotten those). And I have a 5 speed and I regeared from the stock 3.55s to 4.10s, but I only did that cause I like to go fast and I don't do much over 60 mph 😂. Oh and btw all I have is the tbars cranked and nothin else. I don't see why people complain about the ride quality after doin the tbars, or maybe I'm just paralyzed. And don't crank them all the way up though, that's when things go wrong.. And how big would you be wantin to tow????

So, what's the difference between the 3.55 & 3.73 gears? Not trying to beat a dead horse, but i'm not going to read every comment on this post. Sorry

Think of it like you're riding a 10 speed bike. If you go to the smallest sprocket, it'll be a lot easier to get going from a dead stop, but you won't be able to get a overall top speed higher than the next sprocket.. So 3.73 would be the smaller sprocket compared to the 3.55. With 3.73 you will accelerate faster and go from a dead stop quicker and be able to tow more, but with the 3.55 you won't be able to accelerate faster from a dead stop, but your top speed will be higher. So with 3.73, your rpm is higher per mph than what a 3.55 is.

So with larger tires and 3.55s your engine will not be running in its "sweet spot" rpm range and it will have to downshift much more often, effectively shortening your transmissions life span.
