Default 35 psi?

So I run 35x12.5x17 tires, they say 50 LB cold on them, but when I whent to les schwab to get them mounted, they put the tires at 35 PSI, and when I got new wheels, 4 wheel parts put the tires at 35 PSI. I checked the morning after I got it home, so it was cold. My question is why 35? Shouldn't it be at 50?

50 is probably there max. Unless you are towing there is no need to go about 35. Anything more than 35 (with and unloaded truck) will cause them to wear uneven. The door sticker also says 35 psi so that's what the shops go off of

So it does not matter that the tires are oversized?

No. 50 PSI is what you run the tires at if you were running at the max load of the tires.
32-38 PSI is what I would run them at.
