32" Curved behind the grill
People on the forum have stated and accomplished putting a 32" straight light bar behind the grill of our f150s to get some extra and "theft proof" lightning. It was only $10 extra for a curved, and i
wanted to see if it would fit. I purchased it off Amazon for $70 with free two day shipping. It obviously isn't as bright as rigid. Or throws near as far. But it is bright, it also looks pretty bad ***.
Steps-
1)Remove top black piece once you open the hood. It's held in with multiple Philips head screws. Some of them break. Just cut them off
2) remove grill, some Philips heads along the top of grill. Then you remove parking lights and get a few behind there. Then there are some push tabs behind the grill. One of mine were stuck. After 5 minutes I just broke it off, it's fine.
3) place light bar on the bar. I just measured about a finger width on both sides.
4) mark holes and drill. You will need longer bolts or cut the bottom lip to get the nuts on the bolts. I cut the lower lip. No need to cut the center bar like with a straight.
5) wire up light bar and reassemble. I left the Philips head screw clips off my black piece. I have a buddy that hasn't had his for years. It won't go anywhere.
A straight bar will force you to notch the vertical bar that the hood assembly latch is connected to. But no need for this curved bar. It is touching the grill, but it fits just fine.

So the curved bar gets rid of the headaches from a straight bar behind the grill? Looks like I might be getting one soon then

I would like for the people who have straights to chime in.
