300 Inline 6 in a 97?
I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day and he was telling me about a truck he looked at to buy and it was cheap... because it was a 1997 F150 with the V6 and shockingly.. needed head gaskets or new heads. I commented that it was a shame that you couldn't swap a 300 I6 into it and be done with it. He brought up a good point... the 96' F150 in it's final year of the 300 I6 was an OBD2 vehicle, which technically should simplify a swap between the two. It won't be plug and play, but crazier swaps have been done with the 5.0, 5.8 and bigger into the newer chassis.
I like the 300, heck I had two trucks with it... I just couldn't see it as a motor I'd swap in. Although, I don't think I'd swap one out either.
What are your thoughts?
