Thanks for the suggestion man! I'm all ears at this point. I'll consider whatever. I considered the motor, it's actually the first thing I considered but ruled it out immediately since the drive shaft seemed to engage and disengage with no issues. But again, I'm pretty much giving everything a twice over at this point. Thanks again!

I would work the front axle actuator rod in and out of lock. The shaft coming through the axle corrodes up and gives too much resistance. Turning the wheel will definently help going in because a collar is being pulled on a gear. If the teeth aren't lined up it won't go in. If you have freed up everything. Try running jacked up in 4x4 and turn the front wheels by hand. Does it lock in? Yes, test drive it using 4x4. Use more often to keep things working. No, the actuator will still not go far enough. Either the fork is bad or the actuator is too weak.

Ok thanks for all the help! Yea, that's what I first did, is see if both wheels were locked in once I thought I had locked it in while it was still up in the air. Once I messed with it a few times and was able to consistently shift it in and out about 4 or 5 times, I decided to try the switch, as I have not been able to engage it using the switch, and everything worked fine. Did that about 4 or 5 times as well shifting in and out. Put it down, test drove it in HI and LOW. Did not disengage itself once. So whatever I did seems to have helped for the time being. With regards to the fork, if it's rusty could I simply replace it? Or would I have to have the whole assembly worked on? I'll probably go ahead and replace he actuator anyway. Can't hurt to have something new on it.
Again thanks, this has all been very helpful.
