DPFE Differential Pressure Flow EGR Sensor. EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. Have the same code on my 03 FX4 5.4L. From what I've read on here if you aren't noticing any issues with your truck it's just the dpfe sensor and not your actual EGR valve. Seems to be an easy fix if you can find it. I still have no clue where mine is but I've put about 2000 miles on my truck since I got that code with no adverse effects

I'm not that familiar with that code description. What's the actual code designation? P****???
It's common to suspect a DPFE, but there are many other issues at work here. Also, DO NOT start replacing parts. Your truck can become the worlds most expensive dart board if you start throwing parts at it. Diagnose it properly and replace just the part that's bad. EGR valves are simple to diagnose and seldom ever fail. I've only ever replaced one on an F-150 in my career and that's on my truck. I replaced it cuz I was replacing the pipe and with 190k I figured why not.
