Hello everyone and thank you ahead of time for the assistance. I have done quite a few searches, but I am having a really tough time finding info...

I need a new black driver side mirror + assembly (folding/electric/no heat/no signal.) I have a 2003 Ford F-150 XLT (Supercrew). (I assume XLT or Supercrew indicates that it is a 4 door version, and it says both on the truck body.)

FordParts.com comes up with 33 parts for Mirrors based on my VIN... It looks like part 17683 is the one I want... I think... The site has like 7 different list entries for that part number though...

At any rate, I ordered the following from Autocare Depot via Amazon.com:
Pilot MI-075 Ford F-150 Black Power Non Heated Replacement Driver Side Mirror

The list on Amazon says the part will fit, but he mounting doesn't fit correctly... It is to small. I know this because I removed the original broken mirror, and tried to mount the new mirror. Additionally, the new mirror has some sort of polished black plastic on half of the front whereas mine is just a sort of flat black unpolished plastic over the whole mirror.

I have three questions:
1. Is 17683 the correct part number from fordpart.com?
2. Is OEM the way to go? I am on a pretty tight budget and really do not want to throw down $200+ for a mirror.
3. Can anyone direct me to the correct OEM part/website/order page? Clearly, I cannot purchase the correct part on my own...

Not sure about the part#s but I know the supercrew mirror only fits on supercrews and expeditions. They are an entire different mount then a single or extended cab

Yes he's right^ the problem is you bought a mirror for a reg/ext. cab truck.

well i guess it might be different, i work at a shop so all i see is my price. i bought my driver side mirror pwr no heat no signal for $25
