Default 2003 Driver side Door Lock Cylinder Change

Hi,

My bf's 2003 F150 (no power locks/windows) standard single cab driver side door was broken into and the radio was stolen. Seems like the crooks took some sort of power tool or something and pushed the lock cylinder in and broke it. The door opens and closes fine if it is unlocked. Actually, the lock cylinder worked a few times (if you jiggle it), but now, it's completely broke off. Well, it fell in the door so you can't even see it. Currently the door is locked, but can unlock it from inside by pulling the door handle, which unlocks it.

So basically, we are ordering door lock cylinders from o reilly's. It's okay for now (and maybe forever) if the key to unlock the door is not the same as the key to start the car. Right now, we just need the lock cylinder replaced so that you can lock and unlock the door. We can't use the passenger side door right now because it's dented and we haven't opened the door in about a year (due to accident and the cost of fixing = too expensive), but we had to do it and slam it shut so rain doesn't leak in.

Anyway, please help us and provide us instructions on how to change the lock cylinder! I know that you have to take the door panel out, but not even sure how to do that, and after you take the door panel off, it's not an easy breeze. If anyone has instructions, will you please help?

Also, not a priority, but if you wanted to get the new lock cylinder rekeyed to match the other key locks, do you know how expensive that would be?

Thanks,

Kpipi
