Question thunk in the front

Hi, new here, I have a 98, 4wd, 5.7 extended cab all stock, 110k. Just a good truck the way it is. Lately I started to hear a noise (the thunk!) in the front end when turning the wheel to the right while standing still. It dose not happen turning left. Going under and having someone turn the wheel didn't help isolate it much but it dose sound steering related.
Thanks

ball joints.

its about 500 to replace all four, and the uppers have to be purchased with the controll arms, incase ou plan to replace them yourself.
