Hi All,
I have a 2001 F-150. It has the single CD stereo. Last night when I started the truck, the radio went dead and all it says is "PHONE" on the display along with the time. No radio display. I can load and eject a CD but it won't play. Funny thing is that when I start the truck, the clock will read the correct time but freeze on it until I shut the truck off and restart it again - then the time changes to correct current time. I even disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes and reconnected it. Didn't help. Any ideas??

Welcome to the forum! If your radio unit has a reset button, it's time to use it. If it doesn't, remove negative battery connector for one minute - that would reset your radio to factory defaults. it should help.

Thanks. The battery actually died the next day so after making sure it was not the alternator, I replaced the battery this morning. But the radio still won't work and still displays "Phone". I'm going to try and pull the radio out today and look for a reset switch. I can't find anything online that says if there is such a switch or not.

Hi,
So I changed the battery and now the radio goes in and out on its own. So I wanted to pull the radio to check for loose ground but even with the Ford radio removal keys, it ain't coming out. Any ideas if there is something else holding this in?
