2003 4.6L manual 4X4 hard to shift into gear
My truck is having trouble shifting into gears. I especially have trouble shifting to 1st but it's not too bad if I shift down to 2nd then 1st. I drove many other manuals and this truck does not feel as smooth. Another F150 guy told me his manual F150 is very smooth. From what I've been reading, looks like pilot bearing is the problem. The truck only has 45K on it and it's doing this already? It was doing this when I got it at 40K in 2009, but didn't noticed it until I drove it off the lot. This is my first Ford, so I'm not sure what's normal. I was really hoping I can't go wrong with the best selling vehicle.
Question: I'm just wondering if you guys think this will get worse and worse? If so I might have to sell it before it gets expensive. Unless there's a simple solution. I'm handy with cars but it shouldn't need fixing at 45K.
