The first thing you should do is see what your oil and coolant look like. Mine leaked externally for a while before showing signs in the coolant. Use a block tester to verify the presence of exhaust gases in the coolant. If its there, its head gaskets. I found the job to be a real bastard but I took my time and did it over the course of a week or so.

Personally, I hate working in tight spaces. Id rather pull the engine for that...and then do other general maintenance on it as well. But I've pulled quite a few different engines, and the 5.4 I've pulled about 5 times.

As previously stated, could be cam cover gasket OR head gasket. I'd recommend pulling the starter, and seeing if you have oil coming just down the side of the block, or if it begins up higher. Although you've most likely got a little blowback from driving it, if it's the head gasket, you should be able to tell that the leak originates right around the head/block seam. If there is significant oil at the top edge of the head, I'd say cam cover gasket.

The rubber seals (gaskets) on these modular cam covers usually hold up for quite a while, it's quite likely that the bolts might have loosened up some. I'd try tightening them down some, then check again after a week or so.
