Default 2001 F150 Power Seat Issue - clicking

New Member here.
Picked up a used 2001 F150 extended cab with bucket seats and 150k miles. The driver side power seat will not move forwards or backwards. Moving the button just gives continuous clicking. All other functions work fine. I'm having a hard time finding a fix or repair. I figured this would be a quick and easy fix, but was I wrong! I have long legs and it's tough to drive right now. Thoughts or suggestions?

No, serious though, your best bet is to just go get an entire seat track at the wrecking yard and swap it out. I was looking at mine, and it looks like it would be the easiest fix by far.

The description of the clicking makes me believe that the gears are not meshing and probably has some teeth off/broken/worn. Clicking shows that the motor is trying to work. The motor could also be bound up. You can take the 4 bolts out of the floor mounts and tilt the seat to see if you can see the shafts trying to move. You may need a new lower seat track assy. You can reuse your seat, but will probably need the base.

Getting a good working seat base is the only fix. If you go to a you pull it place you can test the seat out with a drill battery. I used my 19.2 c3 battery. Until you get a new one. you can reach under the seat from the back and with vise grips and turn a rod that goes from one side to the other.

If it wasn't clicking, you could fix it for free.
