Default 2001 F150 7700 Bi-Fuel CNG / Gasoline fuel pump fuse keeps blowing... Truck won't run

I just wanted to start this thread just in case anyone else was having this problem... Hopefully I can save you some money and a headache!

My Bi-Fuel CNG / Gasoline 2001 F150 7700 4x4, would not run on gas or CNG, and it kept blowing or popping the #10 fuse (20A fuel pump). I couldn't find out the problem, so I though that it must be a bad fuel pump drawing too much power, and popping the fuse.

I replaced the fuel pump ($180) and the filter, relay, and fuse... but i didnt fix the problem. After some research, I found out that they (as in Ford / GFI) actually routes the circuit for the CNG tank valve through the Gasoline Fuel Pump fuse on the fuse board. When the tank valve goes bad, it blows the fuse, making it so the truck WILL NOT run on GAS or CNG... Too bad it cost me a fuel pump before I found out it was a $250.00 tank valve... I want to get the word out!

So... ANY CNG TRUCK OWNERS: If your fuel pump fuse keeps popping and your truck wont run, CHECK THE FUSE and CHECK THE VALVE before wasting the money on a perfectly good fuel pump first.

Good luck,

Zach
