Default 2000 F150 Theft light/won't start

Tonight this happened for the second time in a month. It is newly purchased and has only 41k on it. The theft light won't stop blinking and the truck will not start. The engine turns over, but nothing starts. I searched on the internet but didn't get a straight answer. It seems pretty common but I just want to know why this is occurring.. the key? a fuse? theft system? Any kind of help would be nice.

PS. The truck was purchased not even a month ago and I am wondering, depending on the degree of seriousness, is this something I should take back and complain about?

Thanks

my best guess ( and it's just a guess) at some point someone tried to bypass the theft system. It might be something as simple as someone in the past tried to put a different stereo in then took it out and put the stock one back in but you never know. Yes I would take it back complain try to get answers anything.

Assuming it is the PATS key, the theft light always blinks. but if it wont start it could be a bad sensor in the key, or like said above, someone tried to unsuccessfully bypass the the anti theft system. its not a super hard fix, but definitely something that the dealer should fix.
