2000 F150 Needs Head Gasket
Well, I so told today that I need a head gasket on my 5.4. It has 137K miles. I took it to a well known radiator shop. I believe their findings. Is really going to cost thousands to fix? Should I have my heads done at the same time?

OVERTHINKER
There is a chance that the head with the bad headgasket is warped. I one headed needs to be shaved I would do both. I know this will start a debate but I would also replace the head bolts. I did a headgasket job and didn't replace them, it came back in after 4k miles because of the bolts.

Dirtbuster1/Torkum,
Thanks for the reply. There is no coolant in the oil. I replaced the intake gasket a couple months ago thinking that might be a fix. No luck.

symtoms are: truck misses when cold, coolant has been tested for exhaust gasses twice (1 postive/1 negative), smell of anti-freeze when truck is running, no leaking under the truck, no oil frothing on the dip stick. Truck is loosing coolant and over heating in the 200 mile range. The temp gauge will max out and oil light will come on.
