My 2000 F150 sat for 2 mos. I put in a new battery. It turns over (gauges don't peg) but won't fire at all.
I reset the fuel cutoff in the passenger foot well (wasn't tripped).

Pull one of the plugs and see if you're getting a spark. Always a good place to start.

Turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump. Should run 2-3 seconds to prime the fuel rail every cycle of the switch.

when i turn on the ignition switch, after about 2 seconds I here a faint thud, coming from the driver side front of the truck. I can't hear the fuel pump running.
This might be the relay trying to get the fuel pump going?

Think you have found it, even tho it clicks on and you hear click off, its not conducting electricity during the 2 second on time. After engine is running the fuel pump will run thru another circuit from the ECU. Find out which relay is clicking, remove and install several times for corrosion sake on terminals, still don't work replace it.

I swapped the Fuel pump relay with the ECM relay. Same results.
I tried banging on the tank near the pump. Still nothing.
I'm guessing the pump is locked up. I'll swing by the auto parts store to get a gauge to measure any fuel pressure on the rail.

Am I bad, didn't realize you are a no run, mixed you up with a run only after priming with fluid. Deffinately get a pressure tester, if money is tight, its always tight in my house, depress the schraeder valve, fuel should spray out. Also might try starting fluid into the intake just to see if it ignites. Something to remember for the future, swapping the PCM relay and the fuel pump relay will also end up a no run condition. Its a circuitry thing, I strongly feel your pump is bad and litterly in the tank.

I am having a similar problem with my truck as well, sometimes it will turn over and over, and sometimes it will start up, the fuel pump is loud at times then sometimes you can barely hear it. I switched the two relays around and got the same results, so I figured it's the fuel pump. If it is what is the bes way to remove it? Drop the tank or take off the bed. Any help would be appreciated.

Personnally, I prefer to work alone as helpers tend to drink all my beer. Of course I do have a transmission jack to support the weight of the tank, so I would tackle it from underneath. Others say to remove the bed. Its a coin toss as to what tools are available and the mood of the day.

I checked the Schrader valve at the fuel rail. I depressed it with a small screwdriver and just a little fuel trickled out.
So, no fuel pressure(after trying to start it).

Does anyone know where the GEM connector is? I read somewhere else that this can get corrosion (from water leaking down from windshield on driver's side) and inhibit ECM or fuel pump control.

I'm going to replace the fuel pump relay ($10).----No change after doing this.
If that doesn't do it then I'm buying a fuel pump at Kragen for $160 and dropping the tank. The dealer told me $500 for a pump and $500 labor (I want what they're smoking).
