Default 1999 f150 4.2L with manual trans

I have a 1999 f150 with the 4.2L and a 5 speed. when the truck takes off into 1rst, the clutch has to be babied otherwise the truck hops violently and shudders to the point of having to push in the clutch all the way. The clutch has been replaced and the slave cylinder as well. does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

Clutch chattering is nothing new and is definately annoying. When the clutch was changed, did you machine the flywheel? They get hard spots from heat and have to be cleaned up once in a while. On extreme conditions I've seen a smaller disc used. 10" clutch with a 9" disc for example.

mine does the same thing even after a brand new clutch and a new flywheel. i find it is much easier on everything to rev to about 1300 or so and the let the clutch out. if you do it right and quick enough that is
