Default 1998 F150 4x4 not working.

I have a 98 F150 and my 4x4 quit working. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I have a new transfer case motor and actuator. Still doesn't work. I am thinking it is the GEM module. Anyone that can help? Is there a way to bypass the Gem module? Thanks.

Broken vacuum lines, fault shift for in differential, bad 4x2 or 4x4 solenoid.

My friend has a 2000 F150 won't go in 4X4,I swapped the vacum lines around on the actuator and it locked in. Is it ok to run it like that till we get a chance to figure what the problem is

No, put it back into 2wd. If it's locked in 4x4 mode on dry pavement, you'll be buying a ton of new parts for the front end.

Just posted this a few days ago cuz I'm sick of seeing this same thread again and again when a FIVE second Google search will help you troubleshoot the entire system A-Z... I mean, you can get this whole system checked out quicker than it takes to wait for someone to answer this question in here...
