Hi, I have a 97 f150 with a leaking tank and the broken strap syndrome. I'm going to replace tank and straps. My question is, should I also replace the fuel sending unit/pump at the same time? The truck has 140,000 miles on it. Anything else to do at the same time? Any advise is greatly appreciated, thanks

Dan I would definatley replace the fuel pump and sender modual would recomend replace rollover vent valve and the fill hose with that milage im supprised the pump is still going. This might be way out in left field but Ford had a safety recall involving some trucks because of fuel tank strap corrosion issues I dont know if it involved your truck you might want to inquire. Yep, is in recall, problem is where the straps connect, the area is rusted out (on one of them), so ford wont install them, need to do some retrofitting of some sorts I guess.
