1998 4.6L Triton starting problems
This has happened once before about 3-4 months ago. Just happened again this morning, so I decided to take video/audio. It's starts up on the second try no problem, but since I'm not a mechanic I was looking for some advice. Thanks

My 98 does that on very rare occasion, starter gear grind. Starter gear is not engaging the teeth on the flexplate/flywheel, might need a fresh starter or flexplate, depending which one might be damaged. Sometimes oiling the starter shaft can help. I don't think these starters can be shimmed for fit.
By the way - mine tends to do it when there are people around for some reason - so everybody looks at the hillbilly in the rusty truck.
