1997 F150 Remote Door Lock Question!
Not sure if it was standard in 1997 to have the remote door locks.. I just picked up a 1997 F150 with 150k for $1700.. She wasnt sure if the truck came with the remote or not, so it has me wondering.. was it standard in 1997?

I had my truck at the dealer for an oil change, and asked if they could tell me if it had remote entry. they said it would have to be hooked to their computer and tested, would cost $65! i told them no, and bought a $25 remote off ebay. to set your remote (mine is a 97 XLT)
- cycle your ignition off to on 5 times (do not start the truck, just turn the key until the "idiot" lights come on) do this within 10 seconds
- on the 5th cycle, leave it in the on position. the door locks will cycle.
-within 20 seconds, press a key on the remote
- then turn ignition to off. door locks will cycle again.
- try the remote.
worked for me, and was a lot less than $65 from the dealer!

mine has it, but thinking back to when i was looking at trucks a couple months ago i seem to remember seeing some 97's without it but i can't really say for sure. could have been that they just didn't come with remotes....
