ok, i got everything hooked up.. but when i press the button on the key fob it just makes a clicking noise at the box. i tried going directly to the battery and it didn't make a difference. any ideas?

update:
i just found this.. "you have to use relays....the power from the keyless entry is not enough to trigger the lock and unlock on the vehicle" does that sound right? isn't the clicking the built in relay for the locks though? i also wired the red with the purple + purple/black after the fuse together connecting it to the battery.. is that right?

On my install I had to wire the purple/black to battery, and the purple to ground. Mine was just clicking as you said yours is, I hooked up the wires as such, and it worked correctly.

yea mine clicked a bunch of times at first but it was because I wired something wrong. After switching the wires around it worked.

The only issue I have had with the system is dropping the remote and knocking the battery out of place. I put a piece of paper in inside to wedge the battery and it works great.

well, thanks to jhelrey e-mailing me back and forth, i finally found the wires and got the keyless entry installed. in the instructions it said that ALL ford trucks are "type c". i tried that and it didn't work until i grounded the purple/black with fuse so i tried "type b" instead and it worked, finished the install only to find my door controls for lock/unlock don't work anymore and the autolock doesn't work when i start moving! i just hear a little clicking sound coming from the dash. it will have to wait though, i'm done messing with it for a few days..

I wired mine in type c and it worked. Did you check to see if you blew the fuse? Hwat you are probably doing is you have one or two of the wires that you cut wired in the reverse direction if that makes any sense to you. I am not sure how to explain it but the problem I had was I couldnt tell where the wire was coming from so I ended up wiring the wrong side when I cut the wires.

Well following the "Type B" (negative) diagram i only tied into the pink/lg pink/y wires instead of cutting and using 4 separate wires. i think when i crawl back in there to check it out i'm going to try using the reverse polarity wiring for the pink/lg pink/y wires and just ground the purple/black. grounding that wire was the only way to get it functioning at all and the fuse is fine on it.

I know I had to hook the wires with the fuse to a hot. I thought the directions were straight forward. I know it said with your multimeter, touch it to one of the wire halves and press the lock or unlock. If it reads voltage, it is positive. You can also assume the other one on the same half is also positive. You wire it like it says to. I didn't have a single problem with mine when I installed it. Worked great, etc.

I think you might have the wires switched like stated above. Go try again.
