1990 Ford F150 will not start without using starting fluid
I have a 1999 Ford F150 6 cylinder that will not start except with the use of starting fluid. Once it starts it runs well, however, as soon as it is turned off, it again requires starting fluid to start. We have tested the fuel pressure at the pump, filter and fuel relay and all measured pressures meet Ford specifications. While running we have also put a code reader with no results showing. We have also empied the gas tanks and put in premium gas.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Is that the same as testing at the schrader valve on the Fuel Rail
How long does it retain fuel pressure when you are testing? (pressure regulator)
Does it drop quickly or slowly after the key is turned off?

Now that fall is here, it gets dark earlier and I can only work on my Ford on weekends. Thanks for the tips. In regards to questions:
1. Yes the fuel pressure stays on after the key is turned off.
2. No, it will not start when the pedal is mashed to the floor.
Is there anyway to test the crank sensor other than replacing it?
Thanks.
