17 inch rims, what tire options?
Hello all. I am just curious what tires would be compatible with a 2001 lariat supercrew 2x4? Right now they have P275-60R17.
What other types can I put on it? Will any pretty much work as long as they are 17 inch? I ask because I see other 17 inch tires for a little bit less in price. Thanks!

MY 2005 XLT had "stock" 235 tires, 255/70 R17 was an option that was installed
I have 265's right now, planning on going to 285's in the Spring
Make sure the speed & load rating are equal to stock tires
I think the 255's looked puny on my truck - but I have 4wd
What does the door sticker say ?
Was that the stock tire ?

These wheels look great!

Sorry, but that's the stupidest looking thing I've ever seen. All wheel and practically no tire, hit a bump and you go through the roof or split the rims. This large wheel to tire aspect ratio art form trend is so ridiculous. There's no tire to absorb bumps and smooth out road irregularities. Hit a pothole when it's -20 F and you'll be riding a square wheel. This looks trend has got to end some time. There's absolutely no logical reason to use them, none. Uglier that hell to boot.

But on topic, you don't have to buy the stock size. There's people running everything from 235s to 40" mud tires on a stock f150 lol.

Thanks for the replies all! Appreciate it. The sticker in the door has the tires which I have on there right now. I found a good deal on 265's instead of the 275 on it now.
