That's correct...the amount of hogs killed.

This project started at our lease when I said I would rather have a used truck than a new Polaris for $20,000. A year later (and no payments unlike my buddy) I think this truck beats the idea of a Polaris. Come home on Friday, no trailer, no loading and storing..just throw your guns and beer in the truck and head out. The bonus is my wife doesn't mind the truck because the baby seat fits in the back and the AC blows ice cold. She swears it has a super charger because it whines a little when stomp on the gas which is a cool bonus that I wasn't expecting.

Wish I had some hogs here to hunt, see a stray yote once in a while when deer hunting, but have yet to see a feral pig.

Brotha there are more down here in south west Texas than you can count. You can hunt them all year round, at night, and with any weapon you choose. They are a nuisance that can't be contained right now.

There not that bad up here in MI but you can hunt them any time of year as long as you have some kind of license ( small game ) but I've never seen any in lower MI. some day I'll have to come down there and visit my uncle in San Antonio and bring my fav gun and bow.

I'm glad you're happy with your N/A motor, but if I spent $4k on a 70hp gain I'd want to shoot someone. I'm a little spoiled with free machine shop work, but I'd want more than that out of $4k.

Do they make stroker kits for the lower ends for these things, or anything like that? I'm considering a 5.4L swap, but I can do the whole thing for about $800 including the motor completely rebuilt, but I'll have to reprogram the ECU on top of that. And, if I do that I'll want a ZF trans as well.

I'm curious to see how the 4.2L to Lincoln Mark VIII 4v motor swap turns out power wise in the engine forum.

I'd be dissappointed with those numbers. I mean one its either a crap dyno or someone doesnt know how to these trucks. 202/250 is quite depressing in my eyes. The stock NPI 5.4 in truck made that stock. Now with a PI swap, cams, and other work is over 300 to the wheels on E85. Possibly in the 300-310 on pump fuel.

I should be put in there that I got the truck for $2,500 knowing I was going to put a new motor and tranny in there day one. So the chip, cam and heads were really the only expense that went above a regular long block rebuild.

I'm glad you pointed out that the numbers were not that great. I've been disappointed in the outcome and I'm getting around 10 miles to the gallon. I've been talking to shops that specifically do 4x4 dyno work and know this motor well to see if they can make it perform better. Also, I've got to run 93 and TORCO fuel additive, otherwise I get a massive amount of detonation.

Is it a 4.6? The only way I ever see these trucks dyno'd is in 2nd gear and the dyno is corrected accordingly..

So try tuned it in 2nd? You need to run 93 and Torco?

Sounds to mean like they did tune in 2nd which doesn't load the engine as much as 3rd(which it should be tuned in) and to much timing or to lean. So once you hit 3rd the load and timing is more than what the 93 can handle. Is suggest getting a new tune from somebody that knows these trucks. Where are you located?

These trucks are almost impossible to lock into 3rd in the lower rpms. So what happens is it down shift into second and then up shifts at the end of the run. My truck was tuned in second, and then dyno'd in second. The final pull was locked into 3rd via a Ford IDS to check timing and afr to maje sure it was adequate and a full pull was made. My figure were made in 3rd with corrected SAE.
