Default 01 Eddie Bauer Expo mirrors on 99 F150XLT

I have a 1999 F150 XLT 4x4 OffRoad Extended Cab.

Will door mirrors off a 2001 EB Expedition fit?

How about mirrors off a 2000 Lincoln Navigator?

I want them because they are heated..

nope. They are like Supercrew mirrors and have the longer base. Notice the difference under the mirror itself? The one on the black truck is longer ( SuperCrew) and the red one is a extended cab (SuperCab) the Expedition and Navigator have totally different doors. Look at the bottoms they have a different design and the black strip under the windows.

longer base..
ok.. the bases are different

Soooo, are the "pods" the same??
is it feasible to change the base???

And I really appreciate the pictures... they are very helpful.

Maybe. I don't know that answer. But you'd have to wire them up. But then you could have signal mirrors as well.

Nope the pods are different also. You'd also have to wire up the heaters. As the SCAB and regular cads didnt come with heated mirrors if I recall. It was a Screw thing..

SCrew's use expo mirrors because we can't get tow mirrors. If you wanted heated mirrors, go buy some heated towing mirrors.

OK, went to the local Pull$$... found a set of mirrors off a 2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition.. Heated with turn signals...

The mounting studs seemed to be the same configuration as the F150, so I bought them... $48 for the pair...
If this experiment goes sideways, I have a buddy with a 99 Expo who will get a set of heated/turn-signal mirrors for his truck...
(at least HIS truck will have heated outside mirrors )

I will try to snag (free) broken mirrors to dissect them...

I really REALLY want heated mirrors (on the cheap)

and wiring does not faze me... I just pull assorted harnesses (harnesii ?) from assorted Ford vehicles so I have lots of automotive-rated wires with connectors...

(I also snagged a Tekonsha Trailer controller .,. the clerk didn't know what it was , the manager guessed it was a "switch to control the trailer.. one switch @ $5.95" )
This came off a '01 Navigator.. it was plugged into the exact-same connector that is conveniently doing nothing on my '99 XLT... hope it works...
